Is it a stamp or photo? Have a close look and discover the filigree details of the stamp which will imprint on any kind of paper. In this tutorial you can create a stamp imprint by laser engraving stamp rubber. Laser rubber is available from our engraving supplies webshop.
Preparation
Materials required
- Laser rubber
- A stamp, we have used a Trodat Professional 5215
Trotec laser machine used
- 60 watt
- Speedy 100
Tip
- Use a 1.5 inch or a 2.0 inch lens for laser engraving.

Step by step
Step 1: Choose your photo
Where possible, use a high-contrast portrait photo with a light, even background. When using pictures from Internet, always download large-scale images.

Step 2: Laser engraving and cutting the laser rubber
Open the file "Photo stamp" and send it to the laser using the recommended laser parameters for the material. Parameters vary depending on your laser machine and its available laser power.
Used laser engraving parameters (black):
Power 100 %, Speed 18 %, 600 ppi
Used laser cutting parameters (red):
Power 100 %, Speed 2.5 %, frequency 2000 Hz
Step 3: Assembly
Once you have finished laser cutting and engraving the rubber, you are ready to fix it into the stamp.
