During the Christmas period, the table where you are going to receive your guests is certainly one of the key elements for the Christmas celebration. In this tutorial, discover our village which will find its place at the center of your table to embellish and illuminate it.
Preparation
Required material
Paper 160gr in
- white
- green
- black
Glue
Trotec laser used
- Speedy 360
- 80 watts
- 1.5 inch lens
Step by step
Step 1: Your graphics
Import the “Christmas Village” file consisting of 6 tabs into your regular graphics software. Each tab will form your village: Houses, roofs, trees. We have used white for houses, black for roofs and green for trees. However, you can change these hues depending on the colours of your table, of course.
Step 2: Parameters
We have used a Speedy 360 (80 W) for cutting 160gsm paper. Place the paper into the machine, then use the following laser parameters:
Laser Settings
Kiss-cut: Power: 9% - Speed: 2% - Frequenzy: 1000Hz - Air Assist: ON - Z-Offset : 1.5 mm
Cutting 1: Power: 9% - Speed: 2% - Frequency: 1000Hz - Air Assist: ON
Cutting 2: Power: 20% - Speed: 2% - Frequency: 1000Hz - Air Assist: ON
Step 3: Assembling the pieces
Once the paper is cut, remove the various parts from the working table and assemble them. For building a house, fold and glue the walls, then add the roof. To create the trees, simply insert the two parts.
Step 4: Tips & Tricks
- For optimal and precise focusing, we have used the ultrasonic technology of the Speedy 360
- Use a black background to make the village shine
- To illuminate the interior of houses, place a small LED candle inside
- To make this setting magical, spray some artificial snow onto the rooftops once the village is set up… a great effect, guaranteed!
