What to do if your laser doesn't respond when you hit start?

Make your laser ready to operate again with a firmware update.

If your laser does not respond after the start command, you may need to update your firmware. Below are step-by-step instructions on how to update your firmware and solve this problem.

Step-by-step instructions for updating via Windows Explorer:

Step 1: Open the Firmware-Update .exe file in Explorer

Open the program "FirmwareUpdate.exe" by double-clicking the left mouse button.

Step 2: Start and end the update

Next click on “Connect,” and then click “Send."
Then wait until the update is finished and then press "OK."

Step by step instruction for updating via JobControl®:

Step 1: Preparation

Start JobControl®. Then switch off the laser machine and open the lid, and switch the laser machine back on.

Step 2: JobControl® settings

In JobControl® select the option “Update Firmware” under “Settings.”

Step 3: Select the Trotec Firmware-Update data file

Select the requested Trotec update data file with the command “Load”

Step 4: Start and end the update

Select the command “Send” and wait until the update is finished.
Caution: Do not press the button “Cancel” during the update.
Do not operate the laser machine during the firmware update.
End the update with "OK."

Step 5: After the firmware update

Switch off the laser machine.
Close the lid.
Switch on the machine.

--> The laser machine references the axes.

Start JobControl® and reconnect to the laser machine.

Check the update

Click on "Settings" and on "Information"
If you receive an error message, carry out the update once again.
