Within the automotive industry projects often require specialised solutions. This can include cabinet signs made of coated acrylic glass and cable equipment made from aluminium with ceramic coating. In large factories where industrial standards apply, effective signage is a requirement.
SPS Technik exclusively use a Speedy 400 flexx laser engraving machine in the production of this signage. The Speedy flex laser has the added advantage of containing two laser sources in one machine, allowing them to engrave and mark many different materials.
Two of the most important materials in the automotive industry are aluminium and acrylic glass. These require different processing methods, making a Speedy flexx laser machine the ideal choice for laser processing.
SPS Technik produce acrylic glass by laser cutting. It is important prior to processing to make sure that the text is mirrored as it is later covered in acrylic paint on the reverse.
Ceramic-coated and anodised aluminium are ideal materials for use in extreme conditions. Prior to laser engraving the material is cut to the desired dimensions using gate shears and any bores punched. The laser then ablates the pre-fabricated material down to the ceramic. On this material laser engraving produces clearly legible white lettering for use on the completed signage.
