The Chamber of Skilled Crafts (= HWK) in Düsseldorf currently employees 240 staff and has represented the interests of the region's skilled crafts for over 120 years. The district of the Düsseldorf Chamber of Skilled Crafts includes more than 59,000 skilled crafts enterprises and around 5.2 million inhabitants. One of the tasks of the HWK is to organise and conduct examinations in training and further education, with the academy operating 23 master craftsmen's schools and offering many continuing and advanced training courses.
To impart interesting and future-oriented knowledge, the HWK pursues a high standard in this area in terms of offering the latest technical equipment.
Working roof models are built as part of the training for master roofers. The master craftsmen work independently on various work situations from their daily practice, thus obtaining a practical and direct a href="between theory and actual work.
A laser cutter is used to create models made of flat roofing and cladding materials. Practice materials are cut from grey cardboard, plywood, acrylic and more in thicknesses of 1 to 3 mm.
We were looking for a modern technology that could replace the time-consuming and laborious manual processing, e.g. cutting out the different roof tile shapes. It was important for us to have a manufacturer from the region where we not only receive a quality product but also German-speaking support. That's why our choice quickly fell on Trotec Laser.
HWK Düsseldorf discovered Trotec's Speedy 100 laser engraver whilst visiting a trade show. The team quickly realised that the laser machine met all their requirements. In the public invitation to tender, Trotec won the contract due to the balanced price/performance ratio.
