For more than 120 years, the Chamber of Skilled Crafts, or HWK, has represented the interests of skilled crafts in the district of the Düsseldorf. It includes more than 59,000 skilled crafts enterprises and around 5.2 million inhabitants. With 240 employees today, a primary focus of the HWK is to prepare and administer examinations in training and higher education. The academy operates 23 master craftsmen's schools and continues to offer advanced instructional programs with the latest technical equipment.

Time-saving laser technology for working models.
Model-making is a substantial portion of training for master roofers. The craftsmen work on projects and models that tie into their daily practice. The laser is used for cutting and engraving models made of flat roofing and cladding materials. For this purpose, practice materials are cut from e.g. gray cardboard, plywood, or acrylic glass in thicknesses of 1 to 3 mm.
We were looking for a modern technology that could replace the time-consuming and laborious manual processing, e.g. cutting out the different roof tile shapes. It was important for us to have a manufacturer from the region where we not only receive a quality product but also German-speaking support. That's why our choice quickly fell on Trotec Laser.

HWK Düsseldorf first came across the Trotec Speedy 100 laser engraver at a tradeshow event and found it met all of their needs for a laser system. In the end, Trotec was the final choice due to price/performance ratio.
