Guitar magnet
In only a few steps you can make this fridge magnet made out of veneer wood.
Preparation
Used material
- 1 sheet wood veneer oak 3 mm
- magnet foil approx. 20 x 35 mm or round magnet
Machine used
- Speedy 360, 80 watts
- 2" lens
- Nozzle with small hole

Step 1: Import the design file
As always you can create your own design or use our template. Send it to the laser with the recommended laser parameters given below.
Print settings:
Process mode | Resolution | Cut line |
---|---|---|
Standard | 500 dpi | none |
Halftone | Others |
---|---|
Colour | enhanced geometries, inner geometries first |

Step 2: Laser engraving and laser cutting wood
Load the material onto the honeycomb cutting table in your laser machine and cover the rest of the work area to create a stronger vacuum using a suitable material such as paper. The parameters will differ depending on the laser machine used and laser power available.
Laser Engraving and Laser Cutting Parameters:
Process | Colour | Process | Power (%) | Speed (%) | Ppi/Hz |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Engraving | Black | Engrave CO2 | 70 | 50 | 500 |
Engraving | Blue | Engrave CO2 | 50 | 50 | 500 |
Engraving | Cyan | Engrave CO2 | 70 | 50 | 500 |
Cutting | Red | Cut CO2 | 100 | 1 | 1000 |
Passes | Air Assist | Z-Offset | Direction | Advanced |

Step 3: Assemble the magnet
Remove the cut guitar from the laser machine and glue the magnetic foil to the back of the guitar.
