Easter Bunny Shelf Sitter

Wooden Easter decorations great for sitting on a shelf or desk made with wood and TroGlass. The colors of the TroGlass Pastel are very suitable for the Easter motifs. It can also be combined well with TroGlass Satins. Try different combinations and create a small series according to your taste! Material residues can also be recycled very well.

Preparation

Materials required for the large easter bunny motif (approx. 13x10.5cm)

Plywood 6mm
TroGlass 3mm, colour of your choice
Double-sided adhesive tape

Materials required for the small easter bunny motif (approx. 10x8cm):

Plywood 3mm
TroGlass 3mm, colour of your choice
Double-sided adhesive tape

Laser engraving machine used

Speedy 360
80 watts
2" lens
Nozzle with small hole diameter (for wood processing)
Nozzle with large hole diameter (for processing TroGlass)
Aluminium cutting grid table (for laser cutting wood)
Acrylic Cutting Grid Table (for laser cutting TroGlass)

Any Speedy laser engraving machine can be used to create these samples, simply adjust the parameter settings according to your laser machine.

Step by step

Step 1

Step 1: Import your design

As usual you can use our designs or create your own. If you are processing transparent TroGlass, please note that the contours shine through the transparent material. You can now select the designs from the template according to your preference. The job can now be sent to the laser using the below settings.

Print settings:

Step 2

Step 2: Laser cutting plywood

The next step is to create the parameter settings. The parameters suggested will differ depending on your laser machine and the available laser power. For laser cutting plywood, use the aluminium cutting table and the nozzle with the small hole diameter. To maximise vacuum, cover the remaining workspace with a material such as paper, which will help to remove dust and fumes. You can now start the laser engraving and laser cutting process.

Step 3

Step 3: Laser processing TroGlass

Once the wood has been processed, create the parameter settings for the TroGlass acrylic. As with the wood the settings will vary depending on your laser machine. Use the acrylic grid table and the nozzle with the large hole diameter. Again cover the remaining workspace before laser engraving and cutting.

Step 4

Step 4: Assembly

Once you've finished laser cutting and laser engraving, all parts should be removed from the laser engraver. It may be necessary to clean the wooden components with a damp cloth.

To assemble your decorations, follow these steps:

Glue a wooden motif with double-sided adhesive tape edge to edge on one side of the TroGlass component
Afterwards stick the tail on suitably
Turn the Easter decoration upside down and stick a wood motif on the back. With transparent TroGlass, make sure that the contours shine through
Also on the second side the tail is now attached with double-sided adhesive tape, making your decoration double sided
The cut-out wooden bunnies can be used as sprinkling decoration. Glue a little tail on one side of these as well
Arrange the bunnies into a cheerful and colourful Easter decoration!
