Christmas tree with decorations

Producing a unique Christmas tree with our tutorial is easy. Create an eye-catching decoration for a lobby, shops or your home. Visit our engraving supplies webshop for engraving materials.

Preparation

Required materials

3 sheets of 3mm TroGlass 1200mm x 600mm, any colour can be used. When creating the decorations you can use the remaining material or a different sheet.
String or fishing line to hang the finished decorations

Laser machine used

SP500, 60 Watt, 3.75" lens
Slat laser cutting table or Acrylic laser cutting grid table

Create this sample with any SP laser cutter.

Important information

Each laser machine is unique, so you may have to adjust the slots to suit the lens you are using to get a nice friction fit.

Step by step

Step 1

Step 1: Importing or creating design template

Create your own design or import our template to begin, then send it to the laser using the recommended laser parameters. These will vary depending on your laser machine and its available laser power.

Print settings:

Step 2

Step 2: Laser processing

Position the material onto your laser machine's bed and cover the rest of the table with paper to increase the exhaust power. For the tree you will need 6 side parts (2 per sheet) and 4 disks. Once you have finished laser cuting remove the protective film.

Step 3

Step 3: Post-processing

To assemble the Christmas tree, friction fit each section into the discs. The largest disc is the base. Please note that the disc at the top of the tree is the one with two extra slots, as this allows the star to be secured onto the tree.
