Introducing the company

Founded in 1987, the idea for Incisioni Ravenna came from Federica Sabini's father. The initial idea for the business was to produce the engraved plates for the machines used in the production of pipes for the industrial sector. When the business was founded, all work was carried out in a small workshop run by her mother using a mechanical pantograph, first manual and then automated.

Discovering laser technology and Trotec laser machines

The company's first contact with laser technology was in 1999 during a trade fair and it was immediately clear that it could be the right choice for their business. With the mechanical engraving machines, the process was often long and laborious, with many parts processed by hand. However with laser technology it was clear that production could be improved by bringing not only greater speed but also a higher quality finished product.

Trotec's solution for Incisioni Ravenna

The search for the right laser machine led Incisioni Ravenna to choose Trotec Laser as their solution was best suited to the needs of the team. The purchase of the laser engraving machine in 2000 began a partnership that continues to this day.

Gradually the laser machine has replaced all other mechanical systems, now being the only technology used by the company for processing. The laser has increased production while maintaining quality standards that were not possible with the previous pantograph machines. The growth of work has led them to increase the number of Trotec laser machines used in production. Currently the team utilise:

After the initial purchase of their Speedy laser engraving machine the team looked to purchase an additional laser machine from an American manufacturer to double up their production. However, the difference in usability and quality of results compared to their Speedy was clearly inferior, so they again contacted Trotec to find an alternative laser machine.



Improved production process

The introduction of laser technology to the company has facilitated an improvement in quality and increased production speed. With the addition of the Speedy 100 flexx laser engraving machine, metal working has particularly benefitted. Federica used to apply a marking solution to the metal before marking with the CO2 laser and then wash them. The fiber laser source in a Speedy flexx now enables direct metal marking, removing two additional processing steps.


With our machines, having also fiber source, we can really offer an infinite number of services.
