Laser engraving bottle caps.
During the Giro, fans were invited to send a message to encourage their favourite rider via yourmessageonabottle.nl. The most encouraging entries were selected and then engraved onto the caps of the riders water bottles, with over 400 caps engraved during the event. Each of the bottle caps was laser engraved using a Trotec Speedy <a href="t3://page?uid=13071">laser engraving machine</link>. The order comes from Samsung Benelux in collaboration with Team Sunweb.

Personalisation as audience participation.
The idea for laser engraving the messages onto bottle caps was born from a desire to involve fans in the Giro in other ways than simply watching the event on television. This participation was not only fun for fans, but also the cyclists. "The cyclists got support and motivation from the encouraging words on the bottle caps."
