LaserPaper Valentine's card
Step by step instruction
Show that special someone just how much you love them by creating a beautiful Valentine's Day card using Trotec's LaserPaper.
Preparation
You Will Need
- 1 sheet of Trotec LaserPaper (any colour you desire)
Machine used
- Speedy 360, 80 Watt
- 1.5" lens
- Vacuum table / honeycomb cutting table
Feel free to use any machine from the Speedy series to create this beautiful card.
Tip
We recommend using the 1.5" lens if you'd like to create intricate cutting designs, such as the ones in our template.
Step by step
Step 1: Import the Design
Try creating your own design, or feel free to import the template we've provided. Then, send the job to your laser machine using the driver settings below:
Print Settings:
Process Mode | Resolution | Cut Line |
---|---|---|
Standard | 500 dpi | None |
Halftone | Others |
---|---|
Colour |
Info:
You'll find there are lots of tiny circles creating the shape of a heart. This is so that you can 'pop' the heart out nice and easily, and re-purpose it for another project.
Step 2: Engraving the Paper
Enter the material parameter settings. We decided to use several parameters, which have been optimised for a large range of requirements (fast cutting, slow cutting, light and deep engraving and even scratching). Please note, these parameters can vary depending on the laser machine you are using and its available power.
LASER PARAMETERS:
Colour | Process | Power (%) | Speed (%) | ppi/Hz |
---|---|---|---|---|
Black | Engrave CO2 | 17 | 20 | 500 |
Red | Engrave CO2 | 25 | 20 | 500 |
Blue | Cut CO2 | 12 | 1 | 1000 |
Cyan | Cut CO2 | 5 | 1 | 1000 |
Green | Cut CO2 | 24 | 2 | 1000 |
Passes | Air Assist | Z-OFfset | Advanced |
---|---|---|---|
1 | On | +3mm | High Quality |
1 | On | - | High Quality |
1 | On | - | - |
1 | On | +4mm | - |
1 | On | - | - |
Info:
We recommend covering the rest of the engraving area with something like scrap pieces of paper to achieve the best possible vacuum. This will, effectively, hold your paper in place.
Step 3: Cleaning
You can clean up the dust with a damp cloth if you need to. Please ensure that the cloth is not dripping wet to avoid damaging the paper.
Inspiration
- Try combining different colours from the Trotec LaserPaper range to create lots of different cards.
- Be original and try using different materials to really wow your customers.
