Acrylic Penbox
Cut with a Laser
Can never find a pen when you need one? Make your own fun and colourful acrylic pen box to store all your stationary and keep your desk neat and tidy. This design is simple yet effective and will be a great feature of any desk. Not only have we worked with acrylic remnants in a variety of colours, we have also experimented in alder and poplar plywood, making this handy organiser suitable for any age.
Preparation
Required material
3 mm acrylic (a perfect way for using material remnants)
Acrylic can be purchased through the Trotec webshop.
Trotec laser used
- Speedy 300
- 60 watts
- 2.5 inch lens
Tips
- Use the 2.5" lens
- Use a cutting table. This will prevent beam reflections on the backside of the material.

Step by step

Step 1: Cut the acrylic with the laser
Open the "acrylic-penbox" file and send it to the laser. You can start cutting the acrylic immediately. The laser parameters depend on the machine used and the available laser power; they may therefore vary.
Recommended cutting parameters (red):
Power: 100 %, speed 0.8 %, frequency 8500 Hz, Air Assist on

Step 2: Assemble the penbox
Once you have cut all parts you can assemble the penbox.
