Step by step guide
Create custom gardening signs using your Trotec laser to cut and engrave different materials. We have three different designs featured in this tutorial, allowing you to label your fruit, herbs and vegetables in style.

The first step is to import the PDF file into the Corel Draw software and select the graphic you want to process (the tabs below show the working area in Corel Draw). The following graphics can be found in the file:
Use the text tool to edit the name of the plant, spice or herb. Once you are happy with the text send the graphic to your laser.
We used the following parameters with the Speedy 400 laser cutting machine (80 watts with 2.5 inch lens). Depending on your laser machine and the available power these parameters may vary.
Laser engraving: Power: 70% - Speed: 100% - Frequency: Auto - Air Assist: ON
Laser cutting: Power: 100% - Speed: 0.1% - Frequency: 20,000 Hz - Air Assist: ON - Z-Offset: -1.50mm
Laser engraving: Power: 35% - Speed: 10% - Frequency: Auto - Air Assist: ON
Laser cutting: Power: 30% - Speed: 0.1% - Frequency: 8,500 Hz - Air Assist: ON
By using an acrylic laser cutting table beam reflections on the reverse of the material are prevented.
It is important that gasses produced are extracted when laser cutting acrylics to avoid flames and to achieve crystal-clear flame polished edges.
