Follow the instructions below to create inspection stickers in a few easy steps.

This application is ideal for equipment, shipment, and product labelling.

Preparation

Required material
  • 1 sheet TroLase Foil green
  • Material to cover the engraving table (e.g. paper)
Machine used
  • Speedy 360, 70 watts
  • 1.5" lens
  • vacuum table with honeycomb cutting table

For this sample you can use any laser machine from the Speedy laser engraver series.

Tip

TroLase Foil metallic can be processed with a fiber laser as well. (For more information, see DIY Trophy Label.)

Step 1

Step 1: Import design

Make your own design or import our template. Adapt it to your requirements. Send the job to the laser using the driver settings below.

Print settings:

Process mode Resolution Cut line
Standard 600 dpi none
Halftone Others
Color Optimized geometries, inner geometries first

Step 2

Step 2: Engraving TroLase Foil

Put TroLase Foil into your Trotec laser and cover the rest of the engraving table to maximize the vacuum effect. Start the engraving from the bottom to prevent the dust from settling on the engraved areas. The parameters can differ depending on the laser machine used and laser power available.

Laser parameters

Process Color Process Power (%) Speed (%)
engraving black Engrave CO2 60 80
scratching red Cut CO2 10 1.5
cutting blue Cut CO2 40 2
ppi/Hz Passes Air Assist Z-Offset Advanced
600 1 on +0.5 mm High Quality
1000 1 on - -
1000 1 on - -

Info:

During kiss-cutting you cut through only the top layer of the sticker material, while the backing layer remains intact. This allows the stickers to be easily peeled and removed from the backing layer.

Step 3: Cleaning and assembling

Clean the sheet with a damp cloth. Leave the material in the machine and the vacuum activated to make the cleaning process easier.

Step 1: Configure the Design

Download our template (below) and alter the design to your liking. Next, send the file to JobControl® and use the following driver settings:

Print Settings

Process mode Resolution Cut line
Standard 600 dpi none
Halftone Others
Color Enhanced geometries, Inner geometries first

Step 2

Step 2: Process the TroLase Lights Premium Sheet

Place the TroLase sheet on the laser's work area, and cover the excess space to maximize the system's suction.

Engrave the sheet from bottom to top in order to prevent debris from settling into the engraving field. The settings used may vary depending on your laser's wattage.

LASER PARAMETERS

Process Color Process Power (%) Speed (%)
engraving black Engrave CO2 60 80
scratching red Cut CO2 10 1.5
cutting blue Cut CO2 40 2
ppi/Hz Passes Air Assist Z-Offset Advanced
600 1 on +0.5 mm High Quality
1000 1 on - -
1000 1 on - -

NOTE: Only the top layer of material is removed during laser processing, leaving the adhesive backing untouched. As a result, the stickers can be easily peeled from the sheet.

Step 3: Clean the Sticker Sheet

Wipe the processed TroLase sheet with a damp cloth. So that the material may dry more quickly, keep the sheet on the laser's work area with the vacuum suction enabled.
