Laser marking of turning, milling and drilling tools
Turning, drilling and milling tools are subject to heavy stress. The markings on these machining technology must also be able to withstand these stresses. Our laser marking tools offer some decisive advantages over other methods, such as etching or stamping:
When labeling machining technology such as turning tools, milling tools, and drilling tools, it is particularly important that the surface is not damaged. Here, the laser can fully execute its advantages. During annealing, the tool's surface finish is not altered.
Laser markings for machining technology such as milling, drilling and turning tools in particular excel in durability and flexibility. With a laser marking tool, labels can be highly precise even in the smallest fonts and on a wide range of shapes. Workpiece properties are not altered because of the non-contact and chemical-free laser technology. Additional cleaning costs can also be avoided thanks to eco-friendly processing methods.
"We are a precision machining facility focusing on the mold industry. We've had the laser now for 5 years, and we use it for engraving part numbers and identification for parts that we manufacture. Before we used the laser we've used a pneumatic pen engraver which was sometimes slow and cumbersome to use. The laser allowed us to speed up the process of engraving and become more efficient by utilizing fixtures, and allowing the operator to load and unload parts more effectively. The laser increased our productivity 4-5 times, it was definitely a good purchase, it probably paid itself off multiple times by now. We used both the CO2 and Fiber depending on the application, the Fiber we use for blank aluminum and steel, while using the CO2 for anodized aluminum and plastics. We've been very satisfied with the Trotec Speedy 300 flexx, it's been a great addition to Metro North. "- Matthew Pace - Metro North Machine & Design Inc. -
