TroLase Thins vs. Lights vs. Foils: Key Differences Explained

We're often asked what's the difference between TroLase Lights, TroLase Thins and TroLase Foils and how to choose the correct material for my application.

Here we provide a brief explanation for you.

TroLase Thins (0.5mm thickness)

  • Full sheet size 1200 x 600mm, half and quarter sheets available
  • 1- and 2-layer acrylic-based material with a thin foiled surface
  • Adhesive can be applied
  • Suitable for curved surfaces, indoor use only 
  • Used for trophy and award plates, interior signage, asset tracking

TroLase Foil (0.2mm thickness)

  • Full sheet size 600 x 300mm
  • 2-layer flexible material with a micro-surfaced coating on an acrylic core
  • Comes with adhesive backing and is UV stable (ie suitable for indoors and outdoors)
  • Allows for special editing options such as kiss-cutting to simplify the work process
  • Ideal for trophy and industrial labelling, functional signage and custom stickers
