SP Series Safety Features
SP2000 and SP3000
The SP2000 and SP3000 large-format laser systems are equipped with a number of features designed to enhance operator safety. In addition, these systems have been rigorously tested to ensure compliance with various global safety standards, such as ISO 12100 and EC Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.

Active Laser Deflector Shield
The path of the laser beam is almost entirely encapsulated by the laser's housing. The laser beam exists through the laser head, which is equipped with an active laser deflector shield. This component renders protective walls or special laser safety training unneccessary. Both the SP2000 and SP 3000 systems are categorized as laser safety Class 2.
Moving Light Curtain System
A moving light curtain system and safety bumpers mounted onto the moving axes define a "protection" zone. The laser immediately stops as soon as the operator enters this area. This makes the work area completely accessible while the machine is cutting. If the protection zone is entered — and laser processing thus interrupted — the resume function allows the operator to seamlessly resume the job at their convenience.SP4000

Similarly to the SP2000 and SP3000 models, the SP4000 is also designed with a laser beam deflector shield. However, the SP4000 laser system may also be equipped with a laser safety gallery, which is a transparent barrier surrounding the laser's work area. With both features, the SP4000 is categorized as a Class 2 laser.
In addition to enhanced safety for laser operators, the laser safety gallery can be easily integrated into your working environment. It has a small footprint and is easily accessible for material loading and machine maintenance.
Standard
Standard laser safety galleries are available for all SP4000 configurations. If a standard gallery is installed, only materials having a thickness of 0.04" (1 mm) or less can be processed.
Custom
Trotec also develops customized laser safety gallery models to meet your unique requirements. Our team of specialists will design the gallery to optimize your workflow while ensuring safety for laser operators.
Unlike standard SP4000 galleries, there custom solutions do not carry material thickness restrictions.
Compliance with Global Standards
All Trotec laser systems are CE-compliant and meet the essential safety and health requirements of EC Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
