Laser Cut Holiday Decor: Wooden Christmas Tree with Acrylic Ornament

In this decorative DIY, we'll go step-by-step to create a unique Christmas Tree decoration, complete with an acrylic bauble! Download your templates and instructions here, and be ready for the festive season. 


Preparation

  • 2" Lens
  • Honeycomb cutting table for wood
  • Acrylic cutting grid table for TroGlass/TroGlitter

Feel free to try this DIY with any machine in the Trotec Laser speedy series

Tip:

Consider trying different wood styles from the Trotec Laser wood range, or different colours from the TroGlass range. This way you will be able to offer your customers even more individuality and flexibility, with a wide variety of colourful options.


Step by Step

Step 1: Design

Start by cutting out the template or your own unique design! We recommend using the following print settings:

Halftone Others
Color Optimal geometries, inner geometries first

Tip:

 Be careful when cutting the base plate for your tree, in order that it will fit snugly and hold firm once assembled. Always measure the thickness of your material before starting to cut. As a guideline, you can start with a cutting gap of approximately 0.2mm when cutting with a 2inch lens.


Step 2: Laser Process The Stand

Next. enter the parameter settings. As always, laser parameters may vary depending on the machine used and the power available.

Tip:

For more contrast in the engraving, lift the Z-Offset to about +4mm.


Step 3: Bauble

Use our template of designs past, or put together a unique one all your own! Send the graphics to the laser machine with the following print settings:

Step 4: Laser Process The Bauble

Send the parameters for your bauble decoration to the laser machine. Here again, the settings may be different depending on the laser machine used and power available.

Step 5: Assemble The Tree

Place the tree in the base plate, and hang the bauble from its outstretched branch. ou now have your own festive decoration! Ho-Ho-Holy Moley, that looks great!
