How to Create a Basic Marking Program
SpeedMark Program Basics
Each of our SpeedMarker galvo lasers come equipped with our SpeedMark marking software. SpeedMark provides program modules for everyday marking jobs and was created to support automated marking processes. Designed for simple personalization, our SpeedMark software modules provide users the ability to create tailor-made marking programs using graphical flow control. Thanks to macros, the SpeedMark marking software can be customized and extended to fit specific needs. This makes for painless integration of the software into existing operations and elements.
In this tutorial, we explain how to create a basic SpeedMark program, including the following tasks:
- Line marking
- Ellipse marking
- Outline text marking
- Rectangle marking
- Arc marking
Step-by-Step Video Tutorial
Step 1: Add text to your flowchart
Select the "Outline text" element located on the left portion of the screen, then move the cursor into the flow chart and left click to add to it.
Step 2: Adjust “New Graphic” Settings
After the text is positioned on the flow chart a “New graphic” screen will appear. Enter desired text, adjust text dimensions, font style etc. Next, select "Add” then place the text on the field.
Step 3: Graphic Properties
Select the text, then in "Graphic properties" on the right portion of the screen, fill the text using drop-down "Fill style" options.
Step 4: Basic Elements
Select each Basic element as shown then left click and drag onto the main page to create each element. Each element will appear in the flow chart once it is finished.
Step 5: Adjust Element
At any given time, any component can be selected from the flow chart and changed. In the example provided, the “Ellipse” is selected and the size and location are modified as needed.
Step 6: Material Parameter
Highlight (select) text and all other Basic elements shown. Next, select “Marking” in the left portion of “Graphic properties." Select "Material parameter" and select needed items from the materials database.
Step 7: Position the job
Before proceeding with the marking process, position the job. The pilot laser can be used to outline the position of the mark on the work piece. To begin the process press F9 or use the icon shown in the menu bar.
Step 8: Start the laser job
Begin the marking process by pressing the F12 key or the "Execute" button located in the menu bar. As illustrated by the flow chart provided, the line will process first followed by the circle. Next, the text will be marked and finally the rectangle and the arc. Alter the flow by changing the order of the individual elements.
