Born in Austria, Assembled with Care in the USA
We are strengthening our commitment to the American market by bringing part of our laser system production to the United States. Beginning this summer, final assembly of the Speedy 360 and Speedy 400 laser systems will take place at Trotec’s U.S. headquarters in Plymouth, Michigan, rather than in Austria where assembly has traditionally occurred. This strategic move marks the first phase of a broader plan to localize production, increase operational flexibility, and enhance service to U.S. customers.
We believe that this coupling of Austrian precision and American finish provides an exciting next step for the future of Trotec. Today’s announcement demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the American market, and allows us to advance innovation while strengthening economic and supply chain resiliency.
By assembling Speedy systems in Michigan, we aim to shorten lead times, improve delivery speeds, and support faster availability of repair and replacement parts. The shift also improves our ability to meet customer-specific configurations or upgrades, allowing for more tailored solutions.
The change provides several additional benefits, including:
- Mitigating risks associated with global shipping delays and geopolitical instability
- Improving collaboration between U.S.-based production, service, and sales teams
- Supporting local job creation and contributing to the broader U.S. industrial base
- Laying the groundwork for future expansion of manufacturing capacity
Although the Speedy 360 and 400 are the first models to be assembled domestically, we plan to expand U.S. production to include additional systems over time.
