Suitable materials for SpeedMarker Black Line 330
The SpeedMarker Black Line 330 is designed for permanent, high-contrast marking across a wide range of materials commonly used throughout the rail industry including:
- Steel and stainless steel components
- Aluminium and anodised aluminium asset tags and parts
- Engineering plastics such as ABS, polycarbonate and polyamide
- Painted and powder-coated surfaces
- Identification plates, labels, housings and other industrial components
Powered by a 100W MOPA fiber laser, the SpeedMarker 330 can produce everything from durable DataMatrix and barcode markings for asset traceability through to high-quality annealed, engraved and contrast marks, depending on the material and application.

About Project i-TRACE
Project i_TRACE is an industry-wide initiative led by the Australasian Railway Association (ARA) and GS1 Australia to standardise the identification and tracking of rail assets using global data standards.
By assigning each component a unique barcode identifier, i-TRACE supports:
- Improved traceability of rail parts and components
- Enhanced safety and regulatory compliance
- More efficient maintenance and asset management
- Reduced manual paperwork and data entry
- Greater visibility across the rail supply chain
When scanned, GS1-compliant identifiers provide instant access to a part's digital record, helping organisations improve data accuracy, support automation and make informed maintenance decisions throughout the asset lifecycle.
