Step-by-Step Instruction
Learn how to make this awesome and thrilling 3D bullet labyrinth using Trotec's TroLase ADA signage!
For this sample you can use any laser machine from the Speedy laser engraver series.
We used the 2" lens because the design of the connectors in the graphic file have been adapted for this kerf.
Create your own box design or use our template. Send the file to the laser using the following print settings:
Process mode | Resolution | Cut line |
---|---|---|
Cut Job | 1000 dpi | none |
Halftone | Others |
---|---|
color | enhanced geometries, inner geometries first |
Go on makeabox.io to create the base frame of the labyrinth and adapt the file for ADA material. For TroLase ADA Signage enter a value of 0.2 mm into the field entitled "kerf."
First place the acrylic grid in the laser and cut the bottom out of the black TroLase ADA Signage. For the playing field, we used the white ADA Signage with the same parameters. We scratched the positions of the individual "labyrinth inner walls" on the playing field so that we could assemble them correctly.
The parameters required may vary depending on the laser power and the machine used.
Color | Process | Power (%) | Speed (%) | ppi/Hz |
---|---|---|---|---|
Scratching: red | cut CO2 | 10 | 1.5 | 1000 |
Marking letters: blue | cut CO2 | 25 | 1.5 | 1000 |
"Wide" scratching: cyan | cut CO2 | 20 | 1.5 | 1000 |
Cutting: green | cut CO2 | 95 | 0.8 | 1000 |
Passes | Air Assist | Z-Offset | Advanced |

For a clean end result, leave the protective foil on the material during laser processing. But don't forget that you will have to remove the foil from every single piece!
Remove the protective foil and clean the surface with multi-purpose cleaner and a soft cloth. Then stick the bottom and one long side part together. Insert the playing field into the holding slots and add one of the short side parts. Close the construction with the two missing side parts. Finally, position the single "walls" of the labyrinth into the marked areas. Now your unique 3D bullet labyrinth is ready.
Clean the edges with an alcohol-based cleaner or solution to prevent them from losing their color.
