Customer-specific laser system for marking and cutting of foils for electronic devices. CO2 and fiber lasers work together in one processing field.

Our customer sought a streamlined solution for marking and cutting their 3-layer films efficiently in a single operation, optimising speed. To meet this demand, we integrated two different laser sources, CO2 and fiber, into a single device.

The Trotec Solution

Up to now, two laser sources in one machine have only been available with flatbed lasers. This combination is not yet available in the standard high-speed laser machines. Our specialists therefore developed a customized laser solution with 2 laser sources. Both sources simultaneously access a processing field of 500 x 500 mm (lens focal length 635). A special CO2 laser source is used for cutting in the kiss-cut process and for the complete separation of the individual layers. For marking, the fiber laser source is used. An external passive roll feed transports the film laminate into the system, where it is laser marked, cut and automatically ejected at the other end.
