Manual load handling is still widespread in many industrial segments and countries. We are receiving an increasing number of inquiries from industrial manufacturers (e.g., from the mechanical engineering and casting industries) who want to make their workflow more ergonomic in the area of marking in order to reduce the physical strain on their employees and increase efficiency while maintaining at least the same level of quality and productivity. Trotec has developed customized solutions for marking large or heavy components on multiple occasions. Examples include the SpeedMarker 1600 for oversized workpieces and the SpeedMarker 700 for heavy components. These individual adaptations of our standard series combine advanced safety features, user-friendly design, and flexible configuration options.

Laser marking large products safely

In this particular case, the customer required a closed laser system capable of processing long parts. To achieve this, an extension was added to a SpeedMarker 1600. This system also allows loading through the side door. To maintain laser safety class 2, the door is sensor-controlled. This means that the laser process can only be started when the door is closed. The T-slot plate in the work area was also adjusted to the same height as the attachment. This means that these long components can always be processed without additional workpiece holders and height compensation.

Easy laser marking of heavy components

The customer required a closed laser system with a movable table for cast parts. To this end, the SpeedMarker 700 was customized to meet the customer's specific requirements. To enable convenient loading and unloading for the operator at close range, the laser system was supplemented with an extendable reinforced table (load capacity up to 30 kg). The motorized Y-axis moves the table inwards into the sealed marking area (laser safety class 2) and back out again for removal once the engraving is complete. Laser engraving is started simply by pressing a mushroom switch.

Customized for your requirements

Since completely new product developments cost our customers time and money, we usually use the devices from our standard series as a basis. Alternatively, we can adapt existing solutions, such as the laser machine described above.

Do you have any customisation requests or individual requirements? Our Galvo-c Laser Competence Centre will be happy to create a suitable solution.
