Nice to Have Inc.: Scaling Creative Production with Trotec's Speedy 360
From wedding keepsakes to capsule toy collectibles, Nice to Have Inc. has built a reputation for producing high-quality, imaginative acrylic goods. But as their business shifted from custom personal items to full-scale B2B manufacturing, their production needs changed—dramatically.

Company Profile
Nice to Have Inc. was founded in 2020 as a subsidiary of a gravure printing company.
They launched the business with the aim of repurposing their UV printing systems originally used for plate-making.
Starting with design and printing services, they gradually expanded into producing original goods and novelty items under the concept of “creating things that would be nice to have.”
Repurposing Print Technology into a Product Powerhouse
Launched in 2020 as a subsidiary of a gravure printing company, Nice to Have Inc. began by repurposing UV printing systems originally used for plate-making. Their mission? To create items that are, quite simply, nice to have.
Starting with bespoke printed goods, the company soon found its niche in the B2B space. Today, they design and manufacture capsule toy items—like acrylic keychains and stands—for zoos, tourist spots, and pop culture markets, including games, anime, and YouTube-themed merchandise.
The Bottleneck: Manual Alignment and Cutting Errors
As demand grew, so did the pressure on production. Initially equipped with a compact CO₂ laser from another manufacturer, their team struggled with workflow inefficiencies. The lack of a positioning camera meant every acrylic sheet had to be cut first, then painstakingly aligned and placed into jigs for UV printing.
The result? Slowed output, frequent misprints, melted edges, and inconsistent product quality—none of which aligned with their growing reputation or client expectations.
The Game Changer: Speedy 360 with Vision Camera
In 2023, Nice to Have Inc. made a strategic upgrade: Trotec’s Speedy 360 laser cutter, featuring a high-precision vision camera. Recommended by industry peers and backed by reliable support, the Speedy 360 offered the precision and efficiency they desperately needed.
With this new setup, the team completely reversed their workflow. Now, they UV print full acrylic sheets first and cut afterward—using the vision system for precise alignment. This switch eliminated the need for jigs, reduced waste, improved edge quality, and significantly boosted output.
Design files are created in Adobe Illustrator and imported into Trotec’s Ruby® software, where the user-friendly interface helps both seasoned designers and new operators keep things moving smoothly.
Improved Cut Quality and Efficiency with the Speedy 360
Since introducing the Speedy 360, they've noticed a clear improvement in cutting quality. Acrylic edges are now much smoother, with no burrs or irregular shapes—issues they faced with their previous machine. The overall finish of their products has greatly improved.
Processing speed has also increased, with cutting times reduced by about half compared to their old setup.
They also addressed concerns about odor during laser processing by installing Trotec’s exhaust system, which keeps the workspace comfortable and odor-free for staff.
Doubling Down on Growth
Just a year after their first installation, Nice to Have added a second Speedy 360 in March 2024 to meet rising B2B demand. With expanded capacity, they’re now focused on scaling their outreach and developing an even broader range of original products.
Through it all, they remain committed to their founding concept: creating thoughtful, well-designed products that people will genuinely enjoy. With the Speedy 360 as a core part of their operation, they’re better equipped than ever to bring those ideas to life—efficiently and at scale.
The high-performance camera can easily read complex shapes, allowing for accurate laser cutting.
