laser cutting egg holder

Laser Cut
Easter Egg Holder

Step By Step Tutorial

This wonderfully cheerful Easter egg holder will be loved by everyone on Easter morning! Laser cut and engraved from wood, the Easter egg rests in the little cart being pushed along by the cheeky little Easter Bunny. In our sample, we used alder wood, but it can be made with any conventional plywood too.

You Will Need:

  • 3mm alder wood / poplar plywood
  • 1x Easter egg

Machine Used:

  • Speedy 300
  • 60 Watts
  • 1.5" lens

We suggest using a cutting table. This will prevent beam reflections on the back of your material.

Step by Step

Step 1:

Open the Easter Bunny file and send it to your laser machine. Begin the engraving and cutting process using the power and speed parameters indicated below. Please note that the parameters for this project may vary depending on the machine you are using and its available laser power.

Laser Settings:

  • Black (engraving) - Power: 25% | Speed: 10% | Resolution: 500dpi | Air Assist: ON
  • Red (cutting) - Power: 60% | Speed: 1% | Frequency: 1000Hz | Air Assist: ON | Correction: 10

Step 2:

Once you have finished cutting all the parts that you will need, it's time to assemble them. If you wish, you can also paint them to give them a little extra creativity!
