Suitable Graphics Software and File Formats for use with Trotec Laser Machines

Trotec software is very flexible, and can easily be paired with any graphics software, able to interact with a standard print driver. Although, depending on your partiuclar choice of software, certain pre-settings are required to work most comfortably with the laser machine. We've included a list of suitable graphics programs and file formats here for your convenience.

Suitable graphics software and file formats for use with Trotec laser machines

You can use any graphics software to prepare your designs for laser cutting, engraving or marking with Trotec laser machines. When using Ruby® laser software by Trotec you can even create graphics, photos and text elements or adjust your prepared designs. Here you can find a list of suitable graphics programs and file formats. 

Vector-based graphics software for laser cutting

Using our laser software, you can process both pixel-based (e.g. from Photoshop) and vector-based (e.g. from CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator) graphics. Both formats are suitable for laser engraving and marking. For laser cutting, you always need vector-based graphics. However, our laser software Ruby®, for instance, offers a bitmap tracing function that allows you to convert graphics or logos into vectors.

In the professional field, software such as AutoCAD® or SolidWorks® is widely used for precise cutting on the laser system.

Can Trotec’s software use serial printing functions?

With the Ruby® software for flatbed lasers, you can process your dynamic data for name tags, promotional items or data plates.

In the galvo area, the Speedmark marking software offers the possibility of creating serial numbers or codes with consecutive, freely definable numbers. In addition, the software provides special features for the smooth import of external data to use them for plain text or for e.g. barcode or data matrix output.

Yes! With the JobControl software for flatbed lasers, you can use the standard serial printing capabilities of your graphics or office software to output lists in the correct format.

In the galvo area, the Speedmark marking software offers the possibility of creating serial numbers or codes with consecutive, freely definable numbers. In addition, the software provides special features for the smooth import of external data to use them for plain text or for barcode/data matrix output.
