This is how I would describe my job to a friend:
I have a very diverse, interesting and also challenging job. We are essentially an interface to various departments (production, R&D, purchasing, etc.). In addition to my colleagues, I'm also the person to contact when there are problems with our suppliers' goods, or when issues come up in production. We do quality controls: firstly on the goods coming in, so that they are free of any defects (they can only be used in our laser machines if they are free of defects), and secondly performing the final inspection on the finished laser systems.I spend most of my work day...
...doing quality controls on the components manufactured, and sometimes also doing first inspections (for example, when we are using new suppliers). And then of course there's the final inspection of the finished Trotec laser machines. The aim of the whole quality control process is to prevent errors from the outset, and if any do occur, to deal with them in the best possible manner.
