Abstract flower decoration

Step-by-step instruction

Add a floral touch to your home, or gift this minimalist piece of art to anyone looking to spruce up their space.

Preparation

Materials:

Machine and Accessories:

  • Speedy 360
  • 80 watts
  • 2" lens
  • Acrylic Cutting Grid Table

This piece can be made on any machine from the Speedy laser engraver series.

Step by Step

Step 1: Prepare Your Files and Process the Clear TroLase ADA Signage

Import the template and provided, or feel free to create a design using your graphic software. If you decide to use a UV-printer for this application, we suggest isolating your flower outline and creating a separate file. This step will prevent the outline from unintentionally getting printed onto the transparent TroLase ADA Signage sheet.

We cut the TroLase ADA Signage to fit the picture frame in advance. We then used a UV-printer to print the colored design onto the back of the sheet.

Alternatively, you can print whole sheets of material with registration marks and cut it afterward using the JobControl Vision camera system.

Step 2: Flower Design

Begin with the outline file, and send the job to the laser using the driver settings below.

Note: Pay attention to the thickness of the flower lines. If they are too thin they can break easily!

Print settings:

Process mode Resolution Cut line
Standard 500dpi none
Halftone Others
Color Optimized Geometries, Inner Geometries First

Step 3: Process the Black TroLase ADA Signage Sheet

Place the black TroLase ADA Signage sheet into the laser. To keep the material from moving while being processed, we recommend covering the remaining work area with material to strengthen the laser's vacuum.

The laser parameters may vary depending on the type of laser machine and available laser power.

Laser Parameters:

Color Process Power (%) Speed (%) ppi/Hz
Red Cut CO2 38 0.8 1000
Passes Air Assist Z-Offset Direction Advanced
1 ON - - -

Step 4: Assembly

Put the passe-partout on top of the clear TroLase ADA Signage sheet and into your frame.

Remove the film from the adhesive backing of the black flower cutout and fasten the cutout to the center of the clear TroLase ADA Signage. Assemble the frame, and your design is ready to be displayed!
