Laser cut delicate parts for construction sets, puzzles or craft supplies for toys, or personalize wooden toys with logos, names or sayings with laser engraving. Trotec laser engraving machines are particularly suitable for processing a wide range of materials, whether the job includes serial production or individual pieces.
Wood is a popular material for toys, thus the versatility of the laser is of great advantage. The dark cutting edge and the brownish or whitish colored engraving serve as extraordinary design elements. Create high-quality, creative end products for a wide range of applications.
Using a laser is a cost-effective way to produce individual pieces, a small series, or a large series. A precise laser cut creates custom-fit parts even with the finest geometries, allowing you to make every toy unique by adding logos, names and decorations on different materials.
Multi-functional table concept for easy handling
Since wood is a natural material, be sure to consider factors such as the density and the resin content of the wood you are processing. Soft woods, such as balsa, require less laser power and can be cut more quickly. Hardwood, on the other hand, is denser so it requires more laser power. For MDF, which consists of glued wood fibers, we recommend using compressed air.
The brownish-colored laser engraving is very common. When you process varnished wood with the appropriate laser settings, you can also achieve a white engraving. To do this, we recommend very low power at high speed.
Laser processing of wood is a sublimation process. That is, the solid material is converted directly into gaseous state through combustion. Here also dust is formed, which is perceptible as smoke. For wood processing, we therefore recommend the use of an efficient extraction system. Thereby you achieve perfect engraving and cutting results. In addition, the service life of your laser machine can thus be prolonged. That is, extraction with maximum flow rate is essential when it comes to wood processing with lasers.
