“How do I create a text plate with the laser?”

To ensure that your impression is readable, the design for a stamp text plate needs to be inverted and mirrored. To obtain a detailed and clean impression on paper, you need to create ‘shoulders’. The Trotec JobControl® laser software simplifies your stamp production by executing all procedures in an automated fashion. There is no need for further processing.

“How deep does my engraving need to be?”

The engraving depth of stamps is about 0.9-1.1mm. With Trotec’s JobControl® materials database, the optimal laser parameters for Trotec materials are included in the delivery scope.

“Can I cut rubber stamps with my laser as well?”

Rubber can potentially be cut to any shape you want using a laser machine. In the JobControl® laser software, various options for automated laser cutting, like round, square and optimised, can be chosen.

The “Stege” [Webs] function enables the handling of plates. Once activated, the cutting lines are automatically interrupted at defining points, facilitating removal and cleansing.

“Which lens should I use for text plate production of stamps?”

For texts and images with delicate details, we recommend using the 1.5” lens.

“What things do I need to keep in mind when processing rubber with a laser?”

Processing rubber stamps produces odour and dust. It is important to install an efficient extraction system to remove these particles and prevent damage. It is also recommended to equip the machine with a sufficient proportion of activated carbon to filter out the odours.

We also recommend engraving the plate from the top and working your way down – this will ensure the engraving quality is less likely to be affected by dust particles.

“How can my productivity be increased even further?”

Rubber laser engraving requires relatively high power to achieve a quick and productive workflow. The more power being used, the quicker the engraving will take.

“How do I clean a laser-engraved and laser cut rubber text plate?”

It is best to place the plate briefly into an ultrasonic bath after the laser processing. Alternatively, water, detergent and a fine brush will work quite nicely.
