Cutting, Scribing, Grooving & Perforating with Trotec Laser Paper Cutters
Laser cutting paper is a quick and straightforward process. Paper, paperboard and cardboard are just some examples of material that can be used for prototype construction, model-making and scrapbooking. Let your business stand out from the crowd by offering fresh design options and ideas that can be created using a Trotec laser cutter machine.
Laser cut paper with a Trotec laser machine to add value to special paper items, including wedding invitations and informative pamphlets.
The possibilities are endless, there are no limitations to your graphic design capacity. Logos, photographs, ornaments and everything in between become easy to create. In fact, laser finishing paper and card increases your design freedom, especially in comparison with free-hand cutting or marking.
See how it works
With a laser cutting machine for paper finishing (such as a cnc laser cutter), you can create invitations, table cards or high-quality packaging with a personal, individual engraving. You can perfectly create the tiniest lettering and detailed graphics every time. Delicate, laser-cut patterns give cards or packaging a special, classy and professional touch. You can also create unusual shapes from printed paper with the laser contour cut.
Compared with traditional paper cutting methods, such as a cutting plotter or a punch press, a laser machine can be used to produce the finest geometries with the highest precision. During laser engraving, the surface of the paper is removed and the result is a high-quality, bold finish. You have complete freedom in creation and implementation of your ideas. Digital production makes it easy to create these beautiful designs with a Trotec laser machine.
"It was important to us that we purchased a quality unit, with after sales support. We felt comfortable with the Trotec staff that we dealt with. Trotec offers us the unique benefits of superior cutting, faster cutting and a guaranteed buy back. We are looking forward to the day that we can purchase another Trotec laser."- Sally McIntyre - owner of Memory Maze -
"I chose Trotec because having a local partner was most important. I would recommend a Trotec as it is very easy and clean to use - it is exactly what we required to manufacture our range of products. We purchased our Speedy 300 in 2011, and the technical support has been excellent."- Richard Hoad - owner of ParchCraft Australia -
"I decided to purchase a Trotec laser because they are the best I have seen for the price. The sales and service is fantastic, as well as the after sales care. Paper is evaporated like wood, i.e. sublimated. During the cutting process, the paper is worn away in the form of a gas, visible as smoke. This smoke transports the heat away from the paper, so the material is only very weakly ‘thermally burdened’ instead of generically ‘burned’.
With optimum parameters, including Air Assist and Table Exhaust, the material can be successfully processed smoke-free without any burnt edges and with the finest contours.
Clamping or fixing the material is not necessary. During laser processing, no pressure is exerted on the material, so nothing will shift or be crushed in the working progress.
Optimal cutting results can be achieved by using a vacuum table. Even corrugated materials like cardboard lie flat on the processing table during laser cutting. You can save time and money this way as no manual preparation of the material is required. This makes the laser machine the perfect cutting tool for any of your paper applications.
Laser cutting or engraving paper offers so many ways to create designs. The finished engraving result depends on several factors. Both light and dark engraving finishes are possible with dyed-through paper types. This way, a so-called ‘colour change’ from dark to light can be achieved with a very low power output. Here, the cover layer is removed, revealing the second colour and creating the illusion that the laser has changed the paper’s shade. You can alternatively use a dark haptic engraving with a higher power output to achieve this result.
The JobControl® Vision camera system detects distortions in the print and automatically adapts its cutting path. Using this, you can create the perfect contour cut of printed materials. Even flexible materials can be cut precisely, with no complex positioning required.
You can save up to 30% of the process costs by combining ‘registration mark detection systems’ and Trotec laser cutters.
