Unique Christmas tree with decorations
Step by Step instruction
This Christmas Tree is a show-stopping, eye-catching beauty! Below, you can learn how to make it using your Trotec laser machine and our Trotec materials.
Preparation
Required material
- 3 sheets of 3mm TroGlass 1200mm x 600mm (Any color can be used. For the decoration you can use remaining material)
- String or fishing line to hang decorations
Machine used
- SP500
- 60 Watt
- 3.75" lens
- Slat cutting table or Acrylic cutting grid table
For this sample we recommend using any laser machine from the SP laser cutter series.
Important
Each laser machine is unique, so you may have to adjust the slots to suit the lens you are using to get a nice friction fit.

Step by step
Step 1: Import /create design template
Make your own design or import our template. Send it to the laser with the recommended laser parameters. The parameters might vary depending on the machine used and the available laser power.
Print settings:
Process mode | Resolution | Cut line |
---|---|---|
Standard | 500 dpi | None |
Halftone | Others |
---|---|
Black & White | Enhanced Geometries Inner - Geometries First |

Step 2: Laser process
Position the material into your laser and cover the rest of the table to increase the exhaust power. You will need 6 side parts (2 on each sheet) and 4 disks. Remove the protective foil after the cutting is complete.
Laser Parameters:
Color | Process | Power (%) | Speed (%) | ppi/Hz |
---|---|---|---|---|
red | Cutting CO2 | 100% | 0.65 | 10,000 |
Passes | Air Assist | Z-Offset | Advanced |
---|---|---|---|
1 | on | - | - |

Step 3: Post-processing
To assemble the Christmas tree, friction fit each section into the discs. Place the largest disc at the base. Note: the disc at the top of the tree is the one with two extra slots for securing the star on top of the tree.
