Halloween lantern
Step by step instruction
Here, we will show you how to construct a spooky Halloween lantern! For this project, we used the TroGlass Colour Gloss in orange and black. You can find the graphic file along with the JobControl® laser parameters at the end of this page.
Preparation
Required material
- 1/4 sheet of TroGlass Color Gloss black or orange
- Acrylic glue
Machine used
- Speedy 400 80 watt
- 2" lens
- Vacuum table with acrylic cutting grid
Tips
Use the 2" lens for best cutting results.
Remove the protective foil on the back of the acrylic after cutting. This prevents the material from being scratched.
Step by step
Step 1: Preparation
Import our graphic or create your own design. Remove the protective foil from the front of the acrylic and put the material into the laser.
Send the job to the laser using the settings below.
Print settings
Process mode | Resolution | Cut line |
---|---|---|
Standard | 500 dpi | none |
Halftone | Others |
---|---|
Color | Optimized geometries, inner geometries first |
Step 2: Laser process
Define the necessary parameters. They might vary depending on the machine used and the available laser power.
Laser Parameters
Color | Process | Power (%) | Speed (%) | ppi/Hz |
---|---|---|---|---|
black | Cut CO2 | 16 | 20 | 500 |
red | Cut CO2 | 50 | 0.2 | 5000 |
Passes | Air Assist | Z-Offset | Advanced |
---|---|---|---|
1 | on | - | - |
1 | on | - | - |
Step 3: Assembly
Remove the protective foil from the back of the material. Clean the pieces with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Assemble the five pieces and use the acrylic glue to fix them. Your Halloween lantern is ready to scare your guests!
