Laser engraved door mat
Step by step instructions
Customise an ordinary, conventional door mat using your Trotec laser machine and a whole lot of creativity!
Preparation
Required material
- single-color door mat
Machine used
- Speedy 400, 120 watts
- 4" lens
- Vacuum table
Depending on the size of the door mat, you can use any other machine of the Speedy laser engraver series.
Tip
Due to the coarse structure of the door mat, we used a lens with long focal length to compensate the unevenness of the material.
Step by step
Step 1: Import design
Make your own design or import our template.
Send the job to the laser using the driver settings below.
Print settings:
Process mode | Resolution | Cut line |
---|---|---|
Standard | 333 dpi | none |
Halftone | Others |
---|---|
Color | - |
Tip:
Since a door mat is typically viewed from the distance, you can use a lower resolution which reduces the production time.

Step 2: Engraving the door mat
Put the door mat into your Trotec laser. Make the parameter settings. The recommended settings can differ depending on the laser machine used and laser power available.
Laser parameters engraving:
Color | Process | Power (%) | Speed (%) | ppi/Hz |
---|---|---|---|---|
black | Engrave CO2 | 80 | 100 | 500 |
Passes | Air Assist | Z-Offset | Advanced |
---|---|---|---|
1 | ON | 4mm | - |
Tip:
Since a door mat is typically viewed from the distance, a resolution of 333 dpi is sufficient.
