You Will Need
- Anodised Aluminium
- 1x Magnet
You may need to use different parameters to us if you are marking a glossy type of aluminium.
Creating a black marking is only possible with the MOPA laser. This is the only laser that colors anodized aluminum black through short pulsing. The conventional fiber lasers in the SpeedMarker Series, Speedy Flexx or Speedy Fiber Laser, can only create white marking.
Step 1: Design
Firstly, import our template; or feel free to create your own. Import the PDF with layers into SpeedMark and assign the parameters and fillings to your object.
Important: If texts are imported from a PDF, they will need to be converted into curves beforehand. Otherwise, SpeedMark won't recognise them as 'text'. Alternatively, you can produce the text directly in SpeedMark to avoid the hassle of converting data.
|Filling for:||Fill Style:||Line Distance: [mm]|
|Logo||Cross Lines (Bidirectional)||0.03|
Step 2: Laser Process
Now, you need to enter the parameter settings. Remember, these can differ depending on the laser machine used and its available laser power.
|Laser Parameter||Process||Power [%]||Speed [mm/s]|
|Laser Parameter||Frequency [kHz]||Pulse Width [ns]||Passes|
Step 3: Post Processing
Attach the magnet to the back of the finished nametag. It is now ready to use!
Try using different colours and sizes of anodised aluminium. This will add another element of quality to your nametags.
