Optimum readability of barcodes and text on metal
Different methods to laser mark metals
Learn how to laser mark barcodes and text on metal. We show you how to achieve precise and readable markings on highly reflective materials.
Different methods of laser marking metals
In most cases, laser markings on bare metal can often be difficult to read. Depending on the surface and exposure to light, the markings may reflect strongly, which thus makes it difficult for humans or optical readers to read. The image to the left shows you how different a barcode laser marking on metal can appear in different exposures to light.
Better readability with "cleaning function"
The cleaning function in the laser machine automatically creates a matte finish in non-marked zones post engraving.
This process not only roughens and brightens the area around the marking, but also subsequently cleans the edges of the engraved areas. This therefore results in a reflection-free marking that does not need to be cleaned.
You can find the cleaning function can be found in SpeedMark in the parameter 'filling'.
