My profession:
Logistics Worker

Employed with Trotec since:
02 November 2013

My personal work motto:
I make a valuable contribution every day.

The thing I appreciate most about Trotec is:

That employees are appreciated – and also that special care is taken to make sure employees are well matched. I also think that the product is good and has a future. And you can sense the dynamism at Trotec, so things stay exciting and there is always something new happening.

Something personal about myself:

I'm married and the father of a one-year-old son; my second son is on the way. That's why my priority at the moment is my family, so other hobbies like traveling have been scaled down a bit.

This is how I would describe my job to a friend:

Definitely varied. I'm in charge of receiving goods and shipping. This means that I'm on my feet a lot, which probably saves me having to go to the gym. I spend half of my time doing administrative tasks, the other half doing manual tasks.

I spend most of my work day...

…always moving: At the forklift, setting up machines, taking charge of goods, or on the computer…

The coolest thing about my job is... colleagues – we're like a family, and we also meet up outside work. Also that my job is very varied; I'm never in the same place for long.

"Als ich noch relativ neu im Werk 4 war, ist mir beim Einbuchen einer Lieferung ein schwerer Fehler passiert: Ich habe ein Bauteil eingebucht und mich in der Zeile vertan - so habe ich anstatt der Menge die Lieferschein-Nummer eingetragen (eine 10-stellige Zahl). Das hat dann einen Betrag von ca. 250 Mio. EUR ergeben. Obwohl das natürlich korrigiert wurde, kann man es im SAP immer noch sehen. When I was still relatively new at Plant 4, I had a serious error when I registered a delivery: I logged in a component and missed the line - instead of the quantity I entered the delivery note number (a 10-digit number ). That resulted in an amount of approx. EUR 250 million. Although this was corrected, of course, you can still see it in SAP."
