Laser Engraved
Party Sign

A friendly welcome for your guests

With different materials in different layers, your sign will look absolutely great! We have used different laminates in different colors.

Preparation

Required material:

  • Laminate walnut/white
  • Laminate green/white with double-sided adhesive tape on the back
  • Laminate silver/black with double-sided adhesive tape on the back
  • Water
  • Sponge

Used Trotec Laser:

  • Speedy 300
  • 25 watts

Tips:

  • Use the 2.5" lens
  • Use a cutting table. You can thus prevent beam reflections on the back of the material.

Step by Step

Step 1:

This sample consists of three layers. We will start with the top layer in silver. Open the file "BBQ Sign 3". If you wish to engrave your own photo, import it. Convert it to a black-and-white picture and use the "Floyd-Steinberg" as conversion model. Draw a contour (red hairline). Then start the engraving process. We have used the parameters below.

Laser Settings

  • Grid engraving: power 60 %, speed 30 %, resolution 500 dpi
  • Vector cut: power: 80 %, speed 1 %, frequency 9000 Hz

Step 2:

Next engrave the center layer of the sign in green/white. Open the file "BBQ Sign 2" and send it to the laser. We have used the parameters below.

Laser Settings

  • Grid engraving: power 40 %, speed 30 %, resolution 500 dpi
  • Vector cut: power: 80 %, speed 1 %, frequency 9000 Hz

Step 3:

Now you can engrave the bottom layer of the sign (walnut/white). For this, open the file "BBQ Sign 1" and send the job to the laser. The used parameters are listed below.

Laser Settings

  • Grid engraving: power 40 %, speed 30 %, frequency: auto
  • Vector cut: power: 65 %, speed 1 %, frequency 9000 Hz

Step 4:

Clean the three materials with water and a sponge and then glue the green sign to the center of the sign in walnut/white.

Step 5:

Now remove the film from the back of the sign in silver and stick it on the green laminate.
