laser cutting sticker trolase foil

Inspection stickers out of TroLase Foil

Using new TroLase Foil material, create labels for manufacturing and other industries where quality control is an important business role. Trotec foil materials are rigid, safe and easy to use.

You will need:

  • 1 x TroLase Foil green material
  • Protective material for dressing your cutting table, such as plain paper

Trotec Machine used:

  • Speedy 360, 70 watts
  • 1.5" lens
  • vacuum table with honeycomb cutting table

In this tutorial, we used the Trotec Speedy 360 laser engraver, however any other machine from the  Speedy laser engraver series may be used.

Another option available is the processing of TroLase Foil metallic material using a fiber laser marker. (See example here: DIY Trophy Label.)

Step by Step

Step 1: Import design

Using your own artwork or this readily available template, import and adapt as you see fit. Now send to the laser using the printer settings below.

Print settings:

Process mode Resolution Cut line
Standard 600 dpi none
Halftone Others
Color Optimized geometries, inner geometries first

Step 2: Engraving TroLase Foil

Insert your material, TroLase Foil inside the Trotec laser engraver whilst protecting the remaining table area for maximizing the vacuum effect. From the bottom up, start the process of engraving, this helps with protecting the area from any dirt. The parameters will differ from machine to machine and laser cutting and engraving power available.

Laser parameters

Process Color Process Power (%) Speed (%)
engraving black Engrave CO2 60 80
scratching red Cut CO2 10 1.5
cutting blue Cut CO2 40 2

1000 1 on - -

During kiss-cutting you cut through only the top layer of the sticker material, while the backing layer remains intact. This allows the stickers to be easily peeled and removed from the backing layer.

Step 3: Cleaning and assembling

Clean the sheet with a damp cloth. Leave the material in the machine and the vacuum activated to make the cleaning process easier.

  • Use TroLase Foil red to produce counterparts that can be used for unreleased items.
  • You can easily adapt the graphics and individualize the items.
  • For large quantities or mass production, use our Galvo CO2 laser GS1000
