Trotec Laser, a leading provider of advanced laser equipment, is partnering with Detroit area customer Construct A Truck on a multi-leg road trip to showcase fun and educational ways customers are using Trotec lasers.
At each stop, Construct A Truck will feature its Mobile Assembly Line, a hands-on demo of the assembly process used to build the Model B Truck. Trotec's lasers, which are used to cut the assembly pieces, will be there to illustrate various fun educational applications of the lasers. Materials to assemble trucks will be available onsite for purchase.
The journey will begin in Park Ridge, Ill on May 9th, at the American Society of Artists 25th Annual Arts & Crafts show. From there, the Construct-A-Truck van will travel to San Mateo, Ca. to participate in the Bay Area Maker Faire, held May 15-17. The Faire will showcase creative, makers in the areas of science and technology, engineering, food, and arts and crafts.
The next leg of the journey will include an educators event on May 18th at the San Francisco Tech Shop, a studio that provides high-tech equipment, software and expert instruction for educational purposes. The event will feature the Tech Shop facilities, which include include Trotec laser cutters, plastics and electronics labs, a machine shop, a wood shop, a metal working shop, a textiles department, welding stations and a waterjet cutter. A group of approximately 30 educators and school administrators will be in attendance to see live demonstrations of the educational applications of Trotec lasers.
The final stop will be on Thursday May 21st, in Omaha, NE. at MTRL Design, a creative and eco-friendly firm that offers design, manufacturing and laser services. In addition to the Mobile Assembly Line, this outdoor event will include live entertainment and food stands in a festival setting.
