All you need to know about our laser software Ruby
Finally all Trotec laser will be supported by Ruby. The open beta currently supports the entire Speedy series (incl. CO2, Fiber and Flexx) since 2001. The supported product range will continuously grow with the SP series next to come.
No it is not. All Speedys compatible with JobControl® 11.4 will work with Ruby.
Yes you can connect all your computer within your local network with your Ruby PC. Therefore you can manage, design, prepare and send jobs to your laser from any computer in your network, even from a Mac. Only starting the laser needs to be done on side.
Web based is the technology used for Ruby. The web technology allows to use any operating systems and provides a powerful framework. Web based products do not necessarily need to run online, they can also be used offline.
Yes Ruby will be available online. Therefore no more installation process on your computer will be required anymore and you can manage, design, preapre and send jobs to the laser from anywhere, anytime. The online version of Ruby will also provide continious updates over the air and automatic backup of essential data.
Yes it will be possible to use Ruby's open programming interface - the Ruby API - to connect 3rd party systems like your webshop to minimize job creation time.
Speed up your workflow and choose your favourity material. Ruby will automatically asign new jobs with your default material. The favourtiy material can be selected in the material database.
Materials effects can be modified and created in your material database. New effets can be added in the effect list.
When an effect is assigned to a material a pre defined layer mapping can be defined and parameters adjusted.

Simply save or drag&drop your graphic files to the Ruby import folder. A shortcut to this folder is available in the Ruby Tray App.
Check for typo with your login password. Use copy&paste function from your welcome mail.
Make sure you your Windows Display Scaling is set to 100%.
Depending on different computers it might be set to recommended 125% or 150% by default.
In the prepare phase Ruby will show and highlight all layers that will be processed. Layers that will not be processed are shown transparent.
In the material card all layers that have not been assigned to a effekt yet are listed in the unassigned area.
To assign unmapped layers click on the colored tile and select the desired effect.
Yes. You can install Ruby and JobControl® at your PC at the same time and switch between programs anytime.
JobControl® is and will still be functional with your lasers and supported by Trotec. The Ruby upgrade is on voluntary base. Overall, the technology base for future developments will be Ruby, as it allows functionalities that have not been possible in the past. From today's perspective we are planning to put JobControl® in frozen state from mid 2022.
The named existing JobControl® features will be implemented during the next year. The Ruby development roadmap provides more insights:
