New update for the SpeedMark marking software

This year there is yet another release of the SpeedMark marking software. This time, the support of Windows 10 and the introduction of new functionalities were on the agenda. The new version SpeedMark 3.9 became available at the start of May.

Support of Windows 10 and improved performance

Since the new release, SpeedMark is now compatible and tested with Windows 10. This allows us to ensure that the marking software is also compatible with the latest hardware and software, guaranteeing best performance and system stability. Furthermore, all new SpeedMarker laser machines will be supplied with Windows 10 from June 2018.

SpeedMark Vision – Code Detection

One highlight of the new SpeedMark version is the new SpeedMark Vision feature “Code Detection”. It is now possible to read and verify all common codes (e.g. data matrix codes, QR codes, barcodes, etc.) using the Vision camera. This has many advantages, particularly for the automated processing of parts. Among other things, the following two applications are now possible.

One scenario is that a code with the information about the marking of workpieces is applied to a workpiece carrier. SpeedMark can read this code and then run the necessary marking program to mark the components automatically.

A second application is that a component or product is marked with a data matrix code (e.g. in medical technology (UDI marking) or automotive industry) and then the content is read, verified and - if desired - stored in a log file.

New functions and features

In addition, we have again implemented some customer requirements to improve performance and user friendliness. In laser workstations with X and Y axes, any point can now be defined as a zero point during segmentation. For text boxes, there are now several ways to define the distortion or reduction of the text. There is also a new option for laser parameters. In addition to the quality-optimized parameters, you can now also select speed-optimized parameters, resulting in a performance improvement of up to 30%. And for SpeedMark users who work with subprograms, there is now the option to better organize and sort them. In addition, all SpeedMark programs can also be used as subprograms.
