Preparation

Required material
Machine used
  • Speedy 400
  • 100 Watt
  • 2" lens

For this sample, you can use laser machines from the Speedy Laser Engraver series (Speedy 360 or larger).

Tips
  • Cut the MDF using the aluminium cutting grid table. When cutting the acrylic, use the acrylic cutting grid or the acrylic slat cutting tables.
  • The elliptic shape under the rectangle helps to compensate for thickness variations with the material. It also helps the slot remain flexible.

Step 3: Post-processing

Clean each part with a damp cloth. Glue the two MDF parts together and attach the acrylic piece on top. Ensure that all pieces are positioned exactly above one another. If necessary, use an angle stop to ensure the parts don’t shift while you work. Next, glue the TroLase Lights letters to the acrylic. Finally, insert the stands into the appropriate slots behind the display.

Inspirations

Instead of using adhesive letters, you can even engrave directly onto the acrylic.
