Trotec will be attending the Design & Technology Techer’s Association of Victoria’s (DATTA Vic) Maker Space conference on the 1st of December!

DATTA Vic’s Maker Space Conference is a collaboration of workshops, information sessions and activities to get people up close and personal with some evolving and innovative new technology. This year, visitors will get to explore Applied STEM learning, creative problem solving, design thinking and the joys of making and creating in the classroom – there’s something for everyone!

This year’s conference will be providing lots of exciting opportunities for delegates to discover new and impressive technologies, fresh approaches to teaching and learning, inspiring classroom projects as well as many awesome community programs – all through an extensive range of practical and seminar-style workshops. Trade exhibitors, including Trotec, will also be offering a wide range of hands-on crafting and tinkering opportunities for visitors.

Trotec, along with an extensive list of other trade exhibitors, will be offering a range of Makerspace activities throughout the day, allowing visitors to get some hands-on experience with the latest resources and technologies on the market! We will have our popular Rayjet 300EDU on hand to check out, and Jesse Szulik – our Victorian Sales Consultant – will be hosting a workshop called ‘The Benefits of Lasers in Education’. He’ll be exploring topics like:

  • The things you can do with a laser machine
  • Material that can and can’t be used
  • The software and design skills you will need
  • Turning a laser machine into an educational tool
  • Integrating a laser machine into a classroom

There are also many other amazing things to see and do! Why not stop by at Zowie Moselen’s ‘Cosplay in the Classroom’ workshop? Or maybe even Libby Moore’s ‘LEGO Mindstorms Education’? And if Cosplay and LEGO aren’t your thing, swing by Phil Tallents workshop and learn how to ‘Design, Make & Code a STEM Mood Light with Soldering, Alpha Code and Laser Cutting’. Visit the conference program to find what else will be going on, there really is something for everyone!

Here at Trotec, we believe that the minds of tomorrow need to be nurtured and encouraged. There’s a lot of potential out there, and we want to turn that spark of creativity into a fire of knowledge and progress! Trotec offers first-class laser systems that cut, engrave and mark on a wide range of materials, and we want to ensure that this unlimited technological potential is available for use and experimentation in schools – the birthplace of thinkers, tinkerers and makers.

Trotec & Maker Space believe in informing and inspiring the minds of tomorrow!
