We wanted to take this opportunity to say congratulations to Voegeler Creations over in WA for winning the Trotec Application Contest – your hard work and patience has paid off big time! We can’t wait to work with you and watch your company grow and succeed!
Late last year, in celebration of our 20th anniversary, we decided to hold a very special international competition that would highlight Trotec customers all around the world and their amazing creativity! It was no easy feat, but eventually we were able to select 20 winners! Each winner has received a Speedy 360 flexx for one whole year… and Voegeler Creations has the privilege of representing Australia as the only Aussie winner selected! Now that’s something to be proud of!
"It was a Thursday, the day before Good Friday, when I received a phone call. I thought it was a telemarketer, but it was a guy called Reece from Sydney and he told me that I had won the Speedy 360. I didn’t hear him the first time – it just sort of went through one ear and out the other. It then clicked as to what had actually happened and I broke down… I was very humbled and excited."- Johnny Voegeler - Voegeler Creations -
Voegeler Creations is a souvenir wholesaler that creates gifts from local products and distributes to tourist designations and destinations all around Australia. They use a lot of local wood as well as Trotec’s laser woods to make a range of products, including jewellery, fridge magnets, picture frames and more.
John Voegeler and his wife initially purchased a Speedy 100. They then built their entire business around this machine.
"I was initially looking for a laser for my oil paintings, to print out onto canvases. I thought the laser was just, like, a large format printer. But when I saw what the laser machine could do, my mind started ticking and my imagination went off in a completely different direction…"- Johnny Voegeler - Voegeler Creations -
Johnny Voegeler entered this competition with his beautiful photo frame. It truly highlights the work and dedication of the company – a worthy winning piece!
The surface of the frame is flawless due to the high attention to detail and the timely method of laser etching that is involved in creating this beautiful product. First, it is carefully etched. Then, the first inlay is inserted before it is sanded down to a smooth, flat surface. This process is repeated, again and again, until all inlay components have been added and the elegant image of the blue wren is completed.
The finished result is high-quality and stunning – it makes for a wonderfully commemorative item, or even just a regular photo frame! And it’s all created with a Trotec laser machine (excluding the glass and screws). Even the hinges and backboard of the frame are created with a Trotec. This project involved so much care, time and patience, and we are extremely impressed with Voegeler Creations!
"I am most proud of my picture frame that I won the Speedy 360 with. I like to keep things simple, and to win such a complicated prize worldwide? That is what I’m proud of. I am proud of what we do, and proud to have our souvenirs and gift ware loved all around the world."- Johnny Voegeler - Voegeler Creations -
