You want to make a special sports trophy? In this tutorial we show you how you can make an impressive award out of individual acrylic layers.
We show you how to make a fun and quirky sports trophy from our laserable acrylic material, TroGlass.
Preparation
Required material
- TroGlass Duo 3mm Night and Day
- TroGlass Satins 3mm Black
- TroGlass Satins 3mm Lemon Green Translucent
- TroGlass Satins 3mm White
Other materials
- Acrylic 3mm Beige
- 2 binding screws (shaft diameter: 5mm, length: 40mm)
- 20 x washers (external diameter: 10mm)
Trotec laser used for this application
- Speedy 400 flexx, 120 watts, 2” lens
Tip: Use an acrylic cutting grid table or an acrylic slat cutting table.
Step by step
Step 1: Preparation
First you need to choose which colours you would like to use for the trophy. We recommend using colours that provide a good contrast between the individual layers for a greater effect.
Tip:
When ordering the TroGlass Satins 3mm Lemon Green Translucent sheet, ensure it has double-sided adhesive film on one side.
Step 2: Laser Process
Proceed to cutting the 15 elements from the acrylic sheets. For perfect results, we recommend using an acrylic cutting grid table. Ensure that you cover the rest of the table and remove the protective film from the top side.
