CeramiCore® laser source technology
Trotec laser machines are equipped with a new line of CO2 laser sources from the US-based manufacturer Iradion Laser, Inc. The patented laser source stands for reliability, high quality and longevity. The resonator body where the laser radiation is produced is made of 100% ceramic. Ceramic laser sources outperform alternative sources, like metal and glass.
Metal and glass laser sources are generally the two standard options for laser processing. CeramiCore® technology completely redefines these basic laser sources. The ceramic design boasts tremendous benefits when compared to metal and glass lasers. For example, there are no aluminium welds or sealings which may leak over time. This is guaranteed by the production process. Two ceramic half shells are fused together to form the manufacturing resonator. This is then fired at 800 degrees, and the burning process effectively cleans the interior surface.
All the optical elements are glued onto the ceramic - the electrodes are mounted on the outside of the resonator and the gas is excited through the ceramic body. This means that there are no interior metal surfaces that may damage the gas mixture's equilibrium. The resulting pure gas composition lasts the entire lifetime of the laser source. Longest lifetime is guaranteed with CermiCore lasers!
Ceramic lasers can be operated at very high pressures, resulting in faster pulse speeds. This, in turn, is critical for high-speed engraving and marking applications. Laser users can benefit from high engraving speeds and quality. The innovative architecture of the electronics features a lower energy consumption than most other lasers as well. Benchmark tests show a reduction of up to 30% under the right conditions.
All CeramiCore® laser sources have been completely optimised for use alongside Trotec laser machines. Trotec solutions can maximise the CeramiCore® technology's benefits - Get the most out of a world-class laser source with Trotec laser machines.
