Trotec laser machines can cut, mark and engrave so many available materials, including plastic, wood, rubber, leather, metal, textiles and more. The following table displays the material processing capabilities of our high-quality laser machines and what material can be either laser cut, laser engraved, or laser marked:
|Metal foils up to 0.5mm |
(Aluminum, Brass, Copper, precious metal)
|Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS)||⚫||⚫||⚫|
|Acrylic/PMMA, i.e. Plexiglas®||⚫||⚫||⚫|
|Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT)||⚫||⚫||⚫|
|Polyethylene terephthalate (PET)||⚫||⚫||⚫|
|Polyoxymethylene (POM) -i.e. Delrin®||⚫||⚫||⚫|
|Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS)||⚫||⚫||⚫|
|Foam (PVC free)||⚫||⚫||⚫|
* This list of materials is based on a Trotec Speedy flexx laser. Flexx lasers combine a CO2 and a fiber laser source in the one machine.
For more details on the cutting, marking and engraving capabilities of our CO2 lasers and fiber lasers, refer to this document:
**Cutting metal films up to 0.5mm thickness is potentially possible with a fiber or flexx laser system depending on the individual material. However we highly recommend individual tests are performed by our application engineers to confirm the suitability and the likelihood of success.
Are you looking for information on a material that was not on this list? Feel free to contact us - we are happy to check the suitability of any material for laser cutting or laser engraving.
